BM's investments in the geothermal sector have also awarded the group with a second resource in the form of CO2 recovered from the Gümüşköy and Ortaklar geothermal areas. Moving from the fact that most geothermally active areas in Turkey also contain high amounts of CO2, BM initiated the industrial gases division, with the primary purpose of marketing its CO2 production.

Starting from 2009, BM also realized a second source for CO2 was biomass, which can be engineered to yield respectable amounts of CO2 inside the syngas. The process is further accredited for helping reduce carbon emissions and preventing contamination.The Company is currently investigating the feasibility of producting and marketing biogas-based CO2 from its biogas projects, where these particular power plants have very suitable locations that significantly eliminate transportation costs faced by competing producers.

Meanwhile, BM has also undertaken the task of promoting CO2 utilization in technological greenhouses throughout Turkey, itself setting one of the first examples. In addition to this, our team of experts continue to scout and promote new markets, while operating, maintaining and striving to improve our gas removal and production systems. The long term goal of BM is to become a major supplier which provides 99.9% purified CO2 to related industries.
