BM Aviation provides HD aerial photography services for large structures and facilities by utilizing state of the art remote controlled unmanned aerial vehicles (RC-UAV).
The group was initially formed within BM Holding, for the purpose of photographing BM's own investments by using RC electric quadrocopters. In time, this group was developed into a proper entity, where it was decided to extend its services to the private sector. Thus, BM Aviation was created.
A strong list of reference projects has demonstrated that HQ aerial photographs taken from RC-UAVs with the proper technique and standards offer a much stronger and broader visual perspectives for large and hard-to-photo-capture facilities. The immense difference between aerial and conventional photography is clearly shown in the two photographs below, taken for the same facility and with the same directional azimuth.
The photo on the left is one taken from the ground. It fails to capture the architectural outline of the hydroelectric power plant, its orientation or even the direction of river flow. The aerial photograph of the same structure clearly illustrates the shape and placement of the structure, its relation with its surroundings, lake area, direction of water flow, roads, trees and even the mountainous landscape with a three dimensional feeling. This is the ultimate upgrade in visual presentation of any facility or area, be it aesthetic or technical.
Our state of the art RC quadrocopters share the same GPS positioning technology with their bigger sibling conventional helicopters, which enables fixing the vehicle's spatial position during the flight. Once the position has been fixed, the pilot can adjust the elevation and camera pitch in order to capture the best possible angle. HD resolution DSLR cameras and custom lenses are used to provide high quality photographs suitable for print. Furthermore, professional flight systems incorporated into our vehicles enables take-off and landing at almost any topography or location (not prohibited by law, subject to weather conditions).
BM Aviation has improved, optimized and standardized the aerial photography service in order to provide the fastest, simplest and most economical service for its customers. Our vision is to transform the entire large-coverage photography sector into prioritizing aerial photography.
In addition to providing the said high level services, BM is also continually undertaking R&D studies to bring new solutions to the market and extend its scope of services. Stemming from these R&D projects, BM Aviation has successfully carried out introductory videos for tourism facilities, video clips of loading and hauling stages from international transportation projects, aerial support in post-installation technical assessment of wind turbine blades, aerial thermal mapping of potential geothermal areas by using thermal bands and fixed-point periodic photographs in construction projects for monitoring progress.
