BM is continuously investing into R&D and pilot works for discovering, developing and commercializing alternative renewable energy Technologies and energy solutions tailored to Turkey's conditions and needs.

A small team of in-house project developers and engineers leads the effort, in collaboration with both local and international specialists, consultants and technology firms. The projects are diversified into varying time-to-money expectations from 2 years all the way up to 10 years and beyond.

These alternative renewable energy solutions also include Turkey's first solar thermal - geothermal hybrid power plant pilot project in Aydın. The Gümüşköy H-CSP-GEPP includes the adaptation of a concentrating solar field to superheat the ORC working fluid in the Gümüşköy Geothermal Power Plant. The Project is currently in the thermodynamical engineering phase, where a pilot solar field is planned for construction in late 2012 for steam testing.
